Exercise
True health and fitness is when all the parts of
the body are working together without pain or injury, and not by how
much weight you can bench press. Every component of the body needs to
work as a whole in order for there to have a healthy and happy quality
of life. Exercise needs to take the same approach and help integrate all
the components of the body together to help form a strong whole.
At Upward Motion Personal Training I understand
that the whole body needs to functionally work together in order for
proper fitness to occur. This is why we first begin with an integrated
and comprehensive structural assessment to help identify the pieces of
the body that are weak. These weaknesses can cause a person to suffer
from chronic back, neck, knee, shoulder, or joint pain. Once these
weaknesses are identified, an individual exercise and treatment program
can be developed to facilitate both functional and aesthetic changes in
the body so that you can discover what it means to be truly strong and
healthy.
Nutrition and Lifestyle
Diet seems to strike the mind as a negative term
more than a positive term. The reason for this is that every diet is
short term, and results only come and go. I strongly believe that anyone
that wants to improve their health needs to progressively
change their lifestyle and eating habits. That is why I teach all my
clients about healthy eating and lifestyle choices so that results and
goals are permanent and not short lived.
At Upward Motion Personal Training we first begin
with a thorough nutritional and lifestyle analysis. This analysis will
help identify the important nutrients that are missing in your diet and
also any potential habits that can be hazardous to your health. Once
these factors are identified, a proper plan of action can be developed
based on your goals, schedule, and particular needs analysis. This
process will help ensure that you stay motivated, persistent, and
self-disciplined through your physical transformation process. Remember
this is a lifestyle style change, not just a quick fix or a fad.
Sports Injury Prevention
Nothing is more frustrating than training for a
sport and getting injured at the beginning or the middle of the season.
Whether you’re the weekend warrior or the hardcore athlete, an injury
can leave you sitting on the sidelines.
The most frequent types of injuries are not
broken bones, but are sprains (injuries to the ligaments) or strains
(injuries to the muscles) caused by abnormal stress to the tendons,
joints, muscles, or bones. This added stress is either caused by a
muscular or structural imbalance in the body.
At Upward Motion Personal Training I understand
the imbalances in the body that can cause injury. These imbalances are
either a lack of flexibility, mobility, or strength in certain parts of
the body. That is why I conduct a full postural examination to identify
the weakness in the body and help you understand what muscular
imbalances your body has.
Before injury leaves you sitting on the
sidelines, let me help you identify your muscular weaknesses. Remember
an “ounce of prevention is worth a
pound of cure.” |
